Cystic Fibrosis is a disorder gene that usually appears during the children and causes the lungs and the digestive system becomes clogged due to a sticky mucus, which makes it difficult to breathe. The symptoms appear like a persistent cough, lung infections, and weight loss. While the absence of a cure for cystic fibrosis, regular maintenance can indeed alleviate symptoms and help patients live longer.
Research on Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic fibrosis gene abnormalities appear from called CFTR, which governs protein which is essential for controlling the Canal where the chloride ion and water out of the cells in people with cystic fibrosis, this ion channel is not functioning properly.

Recently, the latest gene therapy has managed to cure cystic fibrosis in a mouse. Gene therapy is a treatment by replacing the defective gene with a healthy copy of the gene. Previously performed gene therapy to reunite broken ion channel. However, this therapy is only successful in a fraction of patients with cystic fibrosis.

A new gene therapy by a researcher called gene therapy "recombinant adeno-associated virus-(rAAV)". This therapy uses AAV viruses to insert a copy of the healthy gene into the cells of the CFTR gene therapy. rAAV shows positive results on tests to mice with cystic fibrosis and intestinal cells produced also cystic fibrosis patients.

"We are entering into an rAAV rats through their respiratory tract. Most of the cells of CF (cystic fibrosis) mouse can be cured. The distribution of chloride and fluid carried smoothly, "explains Prof. Zeger Debyser, Professor of Molecular Virology and Gene Therapy from the KU Leuven was quoted as saying on the Medical News Today on Sunday (6/12/2015).

The researchers realized that the journey is still long before this is ready to use therapy to patients and cystic fibrosis, they added a very wrong if we expect much at this level.

Prof. Debyser says, they should find out how long the therapy to be done. Repeated doses are needed. But he added: "Clearly this Gene Therapy becomes a candidate who promises to researched and made a healer for cystic fibrosis."
